Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actor who was famous for her portrayal as the fiery lawyer Teri Joseph in the Showtime show Soul Food. She is now known by her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from when she was a child and won an award for the best Actress prize at an Maryland high school contest. Apart from her role at the theater, she also worked with the Washington Ballet Company. She earned the degree of Acting at New York University. Contractor Born from Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria up until she turned seven. She'd been exposed to a lot of travel and different cultures at a very early age. She was a boarding student in London from seven to nine years old, then her family relocated to Toronto, Canada, where she lived the bulk of her early childhood and adulthood. Contractor achieved academic success in Toronto in addition to her training as ballerina. She was enrolled in the Etobicoke School of the Arts. After one year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles at the prestigious, world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the role of lead. The play received rave reviews and her performances during the 92 performances that in the production. It was also voted as the best production by Canadian reviewers in 2002. Contractor accepted the invitation to attend Stratford's Conservatory program. There are only eight males and four females accepted to a course of 20 weeks of classical theater.
